Kitty’s Mistake Vineyard - Under Construction

Not Lost, But Found

Just beyond a bend on Tasmania’s East Coast lies a place locals call Kitty’s Mistake.
No one knows the true origin. Some say Kitty was a woman; others, a small boat carried off course by the tides to this wild stretch of coast. Whatever the truth, she landed somewhere unforgettable.

Our vineyard takes its name from that moment — not for what was lost, but for what was found. Set within Wineglass Bay Estate, it’s shaped by the same coastal winds, pure air, and ancient soils that make Tasmania one of the world’s most exciting cool-climate wine regions.

Good Things Take Time

Our Pinot Noir vines are just beginning their story — one hectare of tiny, determined plants stretching toward the Tasmanian sun. They’re young, full of promise, and still finding their feet (or roots).

Like new parents, we fuss over them — checking, tending, nurturing, and dreaming of what they’ll become. It’s early days, and that’s exactly what makes it special.

This is our beginning: a start-up vineyard with its cool maritime climate, boots in the red earth, and eyes on the horizon. A reminder that patience, like Pinot Noir, rewards those who wait.

A Tribute to Beautiful Detours

Kitty’s Mistake is more than a vineyard — it’s a celebration of detours, missteps, and unexpected turns. The kind that lead to wild coastlines, good stories, and wines worth lingering over.
